Be sure to prepare for DRHS orchestra seating auditions coming up in week four. Go to the "Damonte Ranch" tab, scroll down to "Orchestras", and click on your orchestra to find information on your audition requirements.
New Personnel- Orchestra Committee and Representatives
The orchestra is pleased to announce Falisha Murphy as the new Student Ensemble Manager for the 2013-14 year.
We are also pleased to welcome back Eric Nelson for a second year as the Student Stage Manager.
The DRHS orchestra committee is an organization of elected student representatives who oversee the orchestra, its members, and its goals over the course of the year. It makes recommendations to the director on events, plans, and policies, and helps to promote the DRHS orchestra program in the school and the community. It meets regularly and is open to all orchestra members.
The 2013-2014 DRHS orchestra committee will be made up of the following students:

School starts Monday, August 12th 2013. Please remember to bring your instrument to your first class, as we will be playing right away! All the best on a very important year for the DRHS Orchestras!!!
Please go over to the "Damonte Ranch" tab and select "Orchestras" from the drop-down menu. You will find a copy of the 2013-2014 orchestra syllabus, which you should read completely. Then, please print off PAGES 9 AND 10 and return a signed copy to the teacher no later than Friday, August 23rd, 2013. Signing this document indicates that you agree to abide by the policies outlined in the syllabus, and that you and your parents/guardians are fully aware of the aforementioned policies of the DRHS Orchestras and the WCSD music department.

Concert Weekly Sectionals
Concert orchestra will have weekly sectionals during IC. These are working rehearsals, so attendance and proper preparation (including bringing your instrument!) are mandatory. The scheduled times are as follows:
Violin I- Tuesdays.
Violin II- Mondays.
Viola- Tuesdays.
Cello- Fridays.
Bass- Thursdays.
Fall Concert- October 31st. 7 PM, DRHS Auditorium.

Orchestra Assignment #1
Carefully read the DRHS Orchestra Handbook handed out in class and return a signed student agreement and optional parent volunteer form, due in the second week of class.
Orchestra Assignment #2
Prepare for auditions in the fourth week. Auditions will take place before or after school (periods 0 and 5/10), at lunch, or during instructional center time, and will take approximately 7 minutes. Signup sheets will be posted in the orchestra room. Students who cannot meet with Mr. Steptoe at any of the posted times need to arrange for a make-up audition time. Auditions will involve the following material:
